A season is the same edit, again and again
Weekly episode reactions live on looking the same every week. Build the looks once, save the project, and every new episode opens with the same layout, the same title card and the same sound mix.
Talk-heavy episodes
Commentary on a series is mostly you talking, so most of the cuts are cuts to your camera. The editor finds every one of them from your microphone, which is the part of the edit that used to take the evening.
The same opening every week
The intro and outro look is where the channel intro and the sign-off go. How long it lasts is one slider, the same length every episode, or zero if you would rather not have one.
Three moments, and you choose every look
The editor swaps between the first two from your microphone and puts the third at the start and the end. Each look is a ready-made one or one you build, and a second version makes the clips take turns over a long episode.

Where we would start for series reactions
Episode reactions are talk-heavy, so the editor already cuts to your camera a lot, which keeps the amount of the original on screen naturally low. Video-first looks great and is usually enough.

Your camera sits in a corner shape, small enough to stay out of the subtitle line and big enough that a viewer still reads your face. Set it once and every episode of the season opens the same way.
You speak
You come to the middle, the episode goes soft
The moment your microphone picks you up, the camera grows and moves to the centre and the episode blurs behind you. It keeps playing, so the scene never disappears while you react to it.
A suggestion, not a lock. The same project can run the other way round: you full-screen, the episode in a window you control. It shows far less of the original, which is what you want on a show that gets claimed.

A series reaction, start to finish
The order we would work in. New to it? Start with the beginner guide.
- 1Episode one: take a template set or build the three looks, and put your title card on the intro look.
- 2Press Save project and give it the show’s name.
- 3Each new episode: add the two recordings, sync, then open that project on the Look step.
- 4Generate, then review the cuts on the timeline. Most weeks nothing needs changing.
- 5If a season opener needs a longer intro, set Intro & outro in the Auto cut panel, then save.
You get the finished final.mp4, and a timeline for DaVinci Resolve, Premiere or Final Cut if you want to keep going.
If you get a copyright claim
Because you talk through most of an episode, Video-first already cuts to you often, so less of the show is shown than it feels like. Keep the commentary flowing and you are usually fine. If a particular show gets claimed anyway, either raise the cut sensitivity for more frequent cuts, or move to You-first and dim the window during long silent stretches.

Questions about series reactions
Do I have to set up the layout for every episode?
No. Save project keeps every look with its layers, text, colour and sound, and it opens on any video. A new episode is: add the recordings, sync, open the project, generate.
Where are my saved projects kept?
Signed in with a free account, on your account, so they open on any computer. Signed out, up to ten stay in this browser. Your video files are never part of a project; they never leave your computer.
Can the intro be longer on some episodes?
Yes. Intro & outro is a slider in the Auto cut panel. Set it per project, or to zero to switch the intro and outro off.
